Just a HintClint Visitation Book 4 Lori Foster 9780758203403 Books

Just A Hint-Clint had me hooked from the opening page right through to that ending teaser for Jamie’s story to finally be told. It’s intriguing, intense and satisfying on so many levels. Considering that the Visitation, North Carolina series was originally released back in 2004 please don’t ever think that an author’s earlier works can or should just be left on the shelf – Lori Foster is an amazing storyteller, and she only gets better as the years pass.

Julie has been a secondary character in this series, but she was not one that stood out or shouted for attention. She was vital for the parts she played earlier but she shines with her unique feisty, take charge personality in her own story. Julie has been kidnapped and Clint is hired by her former fiance to rescue her… which all seems rather straightforward, but the twists and turns along with some surprises start early in this one. All I’m going to say is do not assume anything and you’ll be fully engaged and entertained with the conclusion of Just A Hint-Clint.

I loved the dynamic of Clint and Julie, they aren’t quite the opposites attract yet they are very different in their approach to life. I enjoyed watching Julie come alive as her relationship with Clint grew, she was fun to begin with but by the ending I was totally in love with this spunky schoolteacher. I adored Clint, and his unique symptom made him even more human. A man who can be protective and hard when needed, and tender, loving when with his woman… that’s a man I’ll fall in love with every time. We’ll run into a few familiar faces, and their appearance was timed and executed perfectly within the story. As I said, don’t make any assumptions, the villain is vile but for more than the obvious reasons. I was surprised, and I should be – and in truth here I was more involved with Julie and Clint to be trying to figure out the ultimate bad guy anyway.

In all, I had a fantastic time in the Visitation, North Carolina world once again… and I cannot wait to open up Jamie next. I would highly recommend Just A Hint-Clint, and this entire series to Romance readers who like their heroes strong and tender, their heroines smart and capable, and the villains vile as can be. You’ll be hooked but I strongly suggest to read this series in order for people, relationships flow from one story to the next and it all makes more sense if you can read in order… that’s just my opinion.

I own a Kindle edition of this story.

Just a HintClint Visitation Book 4 Lori Foster 9780758203403 Books Reviews

It was such a serendipitous or unexpected match. It was weird how Clint puked every time he saved somebody, but I didn't think his character was any less heroic and honorable. Enjoyed this story and was so happy that Julie Rose fell head-over-heels for Clint. This is a great match! Foster does a great job with these two.
I have to say i love Lori Foster, basically anything from her I read and I'm not dissapointed, and some books I even read several times. On this particular book, it was great, the action sequences had my attention throughout and the relationship between both main characters was hot from the beginning, but for some reason (and it could just be me), I wasn't as into it in "Say No To Joe?", but like I said before, it kept my interest throughout. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is that for me it was a one time read.
Just the way I like my books, three quarters of charecterization, plots, romance, daring do, red herrings, vivid descriptions and only one quarter explicit sex.
If you want or need more sex in a story, go find an 'erotica' author or to erotica dot com. Stop pushing author's or publisher to add more an more sex just to pump up YOUR libido,.
Explicit sex is fine in a story if it fits the stories scene, but it should not dominate the whole story.
I like Lori Foster's books and her writing as is 100%. I have read several of her book over the last few years.
YES I RECOMMEND THIS AND ANY OTHER OF HER BOOKS 100%.
Like another reviewer I had some difficulty with this book and had put it down a couple of times before I forced myself to finish it. I love Lori Foster's books but this one, not so much. Ok, here goes...

This book had a very unrealistic tone to it. Clint and his friends are hired to rescue a kidnapped Julie Rose and after some digging around they locate her. Ok, so far so good. Clint and friends rescue her from a band of unsavoury characters and boom! she's fascinated with Clint because he's the one who doled out the blows to the very bad men. I'm not sure exactly when it happened but she's absolutely smitten with him and him alone even though there were two other guys there with him on the rescue. For a woman who was nearly mauled sexually and hurt and abused by her kidnappers she's awfully clingy with Clint - literally trying to crawl under his skin or something and is afraid of Mojo who only wanted to make sure she was ok and didn't have any serious injuries.

Anyways, they get a motel for the night and the next thing she's doing is checking out his privates and insisting that she wants him not because he saved her but because after a few hours of knowing this man she wants to bed him. Right. He sanely rejects her and she's all in a huff and so's his friends!! What if he went around having sex with all the people he saved just because they were through alot and wanted "fixing". Julie obviously was suffering from the effects of being saved by big bad Clint and wanted to bed him in thanks but we're given some lame dialogue that was to convince us that she was really hot for this guy for all the right reasons. This story spans about a week or so. Again, Right. I'm not convinced they care for each other or have any chemistry. Lust and possesiveness, yes, love - no way.

The story limps along after that... Clint gets increasingly possesive and she gets what she wants - Clint in her bed... I really didn't feel the connection and Lori kinda shoved it down the readers throat that they really cared for each other when in fact it was thank-you-for-saving-me-sex. Oh, and him calling her Julie Rose ALL the time got on my nerves, and her constant referals to all the other characters we met in the series and how big and bad and sexy they were wore on me like it wore on Clint. Seriously, Visitation has waaaay too many big brooding sexy dark dangerous good at heart, gentle will-kick-your-ass heroes.

In summary, this book was off the same fabric as the others (Say No to Joe?, The Secret Life of Bryan, etc) but less realistic and not nearly as convincing. Buy it second hand.
Clint and Julie's story was fun and exciting. Julie really got to cut loose and enjoy life once Clint rescued her. Having Joe and Jamie show up to help really upped the excitement factor. I can't wait for Jamie's story. I would recommend this story to any adult reader that enjoys action packed books with strong heroes and heroines.
